Hi,

I've just gotten my MSI K7TPro2 with Thunderbird 1Ghz but the thing just won't turn on.

If I remove power plug and replug it in, the fan will run for at most 1 or 2 secs and then die.. The AGP video card seems to be ok in that slot.

Any suggestions on what it might be?? Greatly appreciated!!

The fan doesn't "die" after 1 or 2 seconds. IT's supposed to do that. When you plug it in it turns on quickly to make sure it's working. Is that the only problem you've been having?

OK I feel stupid already ;-) It came right out of the store and it does not start up after switching the power button at the front.

So I checked inside and saw the fan doing that.. I am no hardware man so I thought the things just had power for 1 sec..

I will try to check the power switch but I doubt there is anything I can do about that other then replug it into the board?

Thanks..

You have to leave the switch at the back on in order to use the switch in the front.

Hey Arrow,

I do not see a switch at the back of my case! I have found my diagnostic leds on the board though and the last mode they are in are 'checking memory banks'. Then everything goes down.

Could this mean that a DIMM is broken or something? Does that break the whole power off??
