compability with msi z97 motherboard and i5 4690k

i hav a msi z97 gaming 5 motherboard and want to buy a i5 4690k for it i heard that that it will not work out of the box which is a problem with me if it works let me know cuz heard u need to do a bios update i got the mobo just couple of days ago so will i get a updtaed bios ? how can i determine which bios is it.

It is compatible. You most likely will get a motherboard that will have a recent bios version that already supports the i5 4690k out of the box.

the manufacture date says it was made in oct 2015 so will it hav the recent bios cuz i dont want to take risk and how would i know its updated or not??

It should. You won't know what bios version you have until you power it up. You could ask the retailer if they know what bios version it has but they don't always know. Chances are that it should work out of the box.

The i5 4670k would work but the i5 4690k should work out of the box. You said the manufacture date was Oct 2015. The last bios update for that motherboard would be 2015-08-12.

The manufacturer would have updated the bios to the latest version before it was packed and shipped.
You said the manufacturer date was Oct 2015, it will have a recent bios version before Oct 2015. So it would be 12/08/2015 version 1C which is the latest.

The motherboard was compatible with an i5 4690k since June 2014. unless you got the motherboard that was manfacuted before June 2014, you will be fine with an i5 4690k.

Yes, they update the bios before shipping to retailers. Your motherboard is fine with an i5 4690k. You said the manufacturer date was Oct 2015.

As much as you want.
As stated, unless you got the motherboard that was manufactured before June 2014, it will work out of the box. Any date after that, will have a bios version that will work with an i5 4690k.
