Question Compact Flash Cards and Linux

Good morning guys.

I work at a Point-of-sale Repair/Install Shop. Recently I sent out a register to a customer, everything was tested out, and worked fine when it left. I just received the unit back with notes from our sales team stating it is "Corrupting" the compact flash cards.

A little bit of background. These units are basically AIO PC's with a touch screen. This particular model uses CF cards instead of SATA HDD's. The software used for this type of register is a weird offshoot of Red Hat Linux, Customized specifically for the QSR POS market.

The thing that is getting me all hot and bothered, is that I have one CF card with a copy of the Master Terminal image on it. This works in the other units in stock. It also works in this unit. I can copy the image to another CF, or use a deployment image, or a Slave Terminal image on it. None of these other CF cards will boot. I've used stock CF cards, I've used old CF cards that worked in other units, and I bought a brand new CF card, of which will also not boot.

Does anyone have any ideas? They're a bit tedious when it comes to taking apart, so I wanted to get a fresh mind on the issue before I take it apart and try swapping the card reader board.
I've already replaced the customer's unit in their store, so I'm not in any hurry. However, I would like to figure this out, god forbid I have another unit display the same symptoms.

Thanks for the help, guys.
