This is over engineering the problem.

From my experience in repairing laptops, the most annoying thing was replacing the screens because everyone did something different with the display cable harness.

For instance, there is a standard "15.6in" screen, but the connector type and position were totally random between X and Y brand. There was also no guarantee that different models between the same brand would match.
