Compaq c700 laptop screen

Presario C700 laptop: screen goes solid color and then rolling colors and no clear image. Then I move the screen back more or forward and I get normal screen. Do you think the screen strip cable to motherboard is 'wearing' ? Computer @ 4 yrs old

Yeah could easily be the Connecting cable, Quite easy to replace and generally not too expensive
