Please can someone help me. I have a Compaq NC6320 laptop and have just reinstalled Windows XP Home 64 bit. I just cant get my USB stick to open up. The stick works on every other de vice I have and has data on it. The laptop can see it but wont open it and just keeps telling me its not formatted and do I wish to format it. Previosuly I had Windows 7 32 bit on the laptop and it worked fine, so must be an XP driver issue. I just cant find the driver. Can anyone please help? Thank you

Windows XP is not supported on the Compaq NC6320 as HP never released any Windows XP drivers for it, so it is indeed a driver issue.

Put Windows 7 back on it and the problem should be fixed.

Always check the laptop maker's support page for your model to see what drivers they have released for it before changing the OS.

Thanks Phillip for your quick response. I did install windows 7 32bit but as the laptop is only a 1.6 processor it ran very slowly. Before I installed it, I had XP installed and it worked before the hard drive went, so there must be a way I can get it working.

Cheers
Andrew
