Yes i have a compaq persario 5000 with an amd duron 750MHz cpu and i was wondering what cpu could i put in here that would make it faster and not have so much CPU usage..basicly im wondering what cpu would be compatible for upgrading from an amd duron? Any help would be great thanks

In practical terms....none...its just too old and as you know too underpowered....

Maybe some extra ram would help, but thats it,,,

all i can go up to for ram is 768MB and i dont even know if that will make any difference

Hi

Any extra ram WILL help..... and I doubt 768.... you cannot do 768 with only 2 slots...so 512 (2 x 256) or 1 gb (2 x512)

Thats pretty old and there is not to much you'll b able to do to make it "faster" I would max out the RAM.
