Compaq presario sr2177cl nvidia black screen problems

After start-up (normal mode) all the normal start-up bars and logo\'s go across the screen and when the computer should be ready the screen go\'s black with no other response, but still have a curser. in safe mode everything works fine! whats up? already tried the basic scans Graphics by Nvidia Samsung monitor 20335W

Sounds like the resolution in Normal Mode is pushing the monitor beyond its capacity. change Display settings while in Safe Mode.
