Compaq presario sr2177cl will not boot up

computer will not boot up, keyboard flashes once and will not work any more

Usually a bad motherboard or RAM issue, could be the power supply. Check the motherboard for any bad capacitors, they would be puffy or have small black marks on their tops. If that looks good, try using different RAM sticks, either remove some of yours or try new ones. Then try a new power supply.
