Compaq vs the graphics card

I've had this Compaq system for like 3 or 4 months. I had to buy it after the Antec Power Supply blew and fried the whole PC. I tried to put another PSU in but the computer wouldn't start. The graphics card was saved my PNY (crap) Geforce 8800 GT 2.0 survived. Lately though the graphic card is buzzing and the fan is clicking. During WOW and Farcry 2 it'll send the Monitor into Power Save mode and I cant get back. I think the Power Supply is going down or can't handle the Consumption during games anymore. Though PNY has a huge problem with fans dieing

At this point I am unsure of what to do. I bought a Power & Cooling / Silencer / 610-Watt / PCI-Express / SATA-Ready / Copper Power Supply, 80Plus. Because frankly even if the video card is dieing I still need a new Power Supply for a new card. Does anyone have any clues?

The fan does sound like an engine trying to start.

I've never seen this behavior due to a crappy power supply, hanging in games maybe, random restarts and memory errors. Isn't it worth the money to buy a new fan for that card, and see if it helps?

A friend of mine had that problem. After his done that for about two months, the PSU started smoking and popping, he said it sounded like popcorn popping.

It actually doesn't turn off unless i'm playing games. Taking into account that its a Geforce 8800 GT 2.0 that requires probably like a 500 Watt minimum and a Good PSU. I just read the one that came with the computer.... It's 250 Watts and not made by anyone I know.
