AMD Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/josh21/saved/BhJgXL

Intel Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/josh21/saved/XVzhP6 I swapped out a few components.

Games to be played on: Arma 2 Complete Collection + Mods, Dayz Standalone, Arma 3, BF 4.

Budget: $1,650 after rebates.

Which would give better frames for the games listed?
Which will last longer over time?
Intel Build - Will the case I chose keep the system cool? If not post a couple recommendations for cases that have good air cooling potential.
Any parts to change? Why? List just that part please.

Any other advice/opinions that you feel I should know please post it.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
And BossManFromTheHood selected a solution yet again while the thread remains unresolved...

@bossman please stop doing this.

I'll post my build soon.

The only reason I would go with AMD over Intel is that I could put more money into the graphics card. (Or general budget constraints)

I'm not sure about the specific games you mentioned, but the 780 is generally a stronger card than the 280x so I would go with the 780 build.

No direct experience with the case in that build, but it looks like it will allow for plenty of air flow.

Thank you so far to both of you for the replys. I like windows 8.1 and most of the games I already own play on it. I swapped out some components including the case. The slim fan is for a office computer I have that needs it and I'm buying one more 140mm for the top.

If you don't plan to crossfire the R9 290 or overclock, this build could be cheaper.

@ RazerZ
The PSU kinda worries me a bit. Bronze certified sounds like a low efficiency PSU, I do eventually plan to SLI/Crossfire by the end of next year and over clock the cpu. At that point I will be installing a custom liquid loop for the cpu. The Case is okay, i'm a stickler for aesthetics as well as function. What's the difference between the 290 & 290x?

You will be perfectly fine with a bronze efficiency psu. The rating doesn't matter nearly as much as the quality of the psu.

If you're a stickler for aesthetics, you could get the fully modular EVGA Super NOVA G2 which would allow for cleaner cable management.

As far as the case goes you have tons of options... I'd suggest to view some of the top rated builds on pcpartpicker that use a liquid cooled system and see which case they have. Try to find one that you like, because cases are for the most part chosen by personal preference.

The 290x is a slightly better card, but the premium in price is not worth it imo. It has more stream processors and textures compared to the 290, but if you overclock the 290 the difference is only around 6 fps, if that.

Cool. Will definitely check out the liquid systems and go from there. Thanks for the information. I knew the brand mattered but I also thought that the efficency rating mattered too.
