Compare graphics cards

I'm trying to find a mid range card for gaming. I was looking at the gtx 960s and r9 380s both 4gb gddr5 and decided the r9 was slightly better. However I found a gigabyte gpu for 200 a powercolor for 180 with a 20$ rebate should go with the cheaper one? This is for AAA titles like cod fallout GTA. Thanks!

if you can wait nvidia is dropping a newer 960ti in jan. to fill in the price/performance of the 380x cards.

i would go with the GTX 960s for a sturdier GPU .

if you could stretch your budget to $229 the r9 380x is a better option, which is about 15 percent faster than 960 and about 10 percent faster than 380

Sorry to prove you wrong but it's a fact. the r9 380x and r9 380 are more of more of a work GPUs (video rendering-editing etc ) !
Their vRAM is way too much for gaming and it's clock/pixel rate is less than the GTX 960. the memory clock is less as well.
the r9 s only have more texture and shading units that are for ... video editing/rendering stuff.
