Looking at pulling the trigger on a 34" curved screen monitor in the $400-$600 range. I am interested in knowing how Microsoft Word documents would look on each.... multiple Word documents side-by-side.

Guessing either one would compare 3 comfortably? Or would the 3440 X 1440 display 4, but the writing might be too 'fine' and small?

Gaming is secondary, but will game as well. Not too worried about that here, though. Thank you!

Solution
3 pages seems viable based on 8 1/2" x 11" per page if viewed full size or close to full size.

However be sure to consider curvature and viewing distance.

Take some typical .doc pages with you to the store and hold them up to the curved screen monitor. Should help you get some idea of how the documents could look. Awkward perhaps but with $$ at stake - no harm, no foul. :)

Solution
Thankyou, @Ralston18 .

Your approach is helpful, and the article sheds a bit of light as well. My question though is more about the difference in pixel count, not the width of the monitor itself. The approach of holding 8.5"X11" papers would be applicable if I was comparing, say a 34" monitor to a 27" monitor. But since both are 34".... I need to know how these docs would view if one monitor were 2560 pixels wide, while the other was 3440 pixels wide (and both monitors were 34" wide).

Pixels/Page?

There are rulers for measuring pixels. For example:

(Just downloaded to check. No problems with download nor use.)

Sentence above measured 394 pixels.

Overall idea being you can do some estimating via similarly displayed documents on a flat screen to get a sense of appearance.

Still the curvature may skew appearance either way albeit 2560 or 3440.

However, at some point the appearance of the pages is likely to become simply subjective.
