GTX570 is faster than HD6950. GTX570 is more comparable to HD6970 in term of performance with HD6970 being slightly faster than GTX570 (stock vs stock). you can check this chart for GPU comparison in general:

if you live in the US, there is no reason to take the 6970 or 6950 over the GTX 570

AMD needs to start slashing prices, but AFTER i resell my 6950's
