Hi,

I see the new Raspberry Pi4 has a 1.5GHz quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A72 CPU.

I want to know how that compares against my 7 year old laptop CPU - Intel Core i5-2467M @ 1.60GHz - or my OnePlus3T.

Is there any way of comparing like with like. I am aware it is not comparing apples with apples due to differing architecture but I'd like to know where a Pi cpu sits against these.

In all honesty, the need to compare both of them side by side, given how many eyars apart they are and the sort of platform they both are/were on is absurd. You could try and test the same apps on both platforms but you're also going to have to understand the the Pi4 is probably going to replace Intel in the Chromebook market and Intel there is the Atom(or their crippled models, i.e)

It's tricky, but I'd say the Pi 4 would sit between the i5 and the SD 821 (in your 3T).

I can look at Passmark but it only compares the individual CPU against others in the same category and not overall.

I'm just curious to understand how good this pi4 chip is compared against less than a decade old consumer hardware.
