Comparison of ATI video cards. 5670/512mb/128bit or 4850/512mb/256bit?

Title says it all.

5670:

Basically, I'm looking to save a little green if the difference is negligible. Would the software (loosely speaking) advantages of the 5670 outweigh the (seeming!) performance upgrade of the 4850, paired with price?

Also, I feel it's worth mentioning that the 5670 is GDDR5, whereas the 4850 is GDDR3. As I understand it, there are cooling and power usage advantages to GDDR5. Anything else I should know?

Guide me!

4850 is about as fast as a 5770. 5670 is about as fast as a 9600gt and a tad faster then a 4670. Get the 4850

Okay. Why?

...It might be worth keeping in mind that I've only recently become involved in the hardware game. I'm not new, by any standards, but I've never really paid it much mind until now.

Edit: A clarification I feel is worthwhile: I'm in this for long-run knowledge, not short-run satisfaction.

HAve you looked at any of the hundreds of benchmarks out there???

Are you buying a graphics card because its lower power than the other - really??

Generally speaking the more the better - ROPS, Stream processors, memory bandwidth (both in bus size and raw throughput)

Now sit down, get out 3 peformance charts, compare those details above with frame rates with prices and make a decision. Buy the most you can afford to spend - thats it....

The 5 series is nothing but marketing unless you are buying the 5850/5870 or 5890 for their eyefinity features becasue everything else is too underpowered to really make use of them.

First off...vvho, relax, huh? I don't understand how you can be so impatient with someone you've never met.

Anywho... I'm going with the 4850, I guess.
