Question Comparison of GPD Win Max 2021 Intel I7 1195G7 vs. Ryzen 7 4800U

In 2021 GPD released and updated model of their Win Max with upgraded chipsets. The I7 1195G7 is capable of mounting a eGPU while the Ryzen 7 model can not but the 4800U has twice the core/thread count (8/16 vs. 4/8) and seems to have better driver compatibility (a lot of YouTube comments suggest Intel drivers as being lousy). At this point I am not sure which to go for. I like the idea of mounting a eGPU in the future.

I'd like to ask for second opinions to help make a decision, please.

Are you really ever going to use an egpu? The cost and limitation on bandwidth would put me off ever considering it as a practical solution. If money is no object or you absolutely need a desktop gpu without buying a desktop pc.

Thank you for responding. My mid-term goal is the upgrade my desktop with an RTX. Once I have that I'd like to repurpose the GTX 1080 Ti thats currently in it rather then let it go to waste. Hence the eGPU.

That's why I considered the Intel 1195G7 option originally. But eGPU aside, if Ryzen 4800U model is superior I may abandon that plan which is why I'm trying to compre and asking for input.

P.S. I plan to run at max power, full proformance if that helps any.
