COMPATABILITY: What's the best CPU I can get for a ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 MoBo?

I was looking at the best cpu's to get and I liked

But it's not compatible with mine. Is there anything anywhere close that I can get for motherboard

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 ?

if not, what's the least amount of money I can spend for a combo with that or similarly good CPU?

EXTRA QUESTION: ISN'T THERE A SITE WHERE YOU CAN MATCH AND SEE ALL THE COMPATIBLE MOBOS & CPUS?

The socket 1156 that your motherboard has is really old, would recommend just getting a new motherboard so you would be using modern hardware.

The fastest CPU you can get for your motherboard is the Core i7 880, which is a rather old CPU at this point and is a good deal slower than the i7 4790k. As said above you're better off just buying a new CPU and motherboard combo, the 4790k is a good option if you want to re-use your existing RAM. Skylake is coming out really soon with the i7 6700k being the 4790k's successor, but will also require DDR4 RAM, so that would add to your costs.

I appreciate that shopping solution! I'm not sure if it's compatible with my ram and other stuff. I just spent some money on ram.

If you want to overclock, you'll need to get a Z97 motherboard to do it if you're getting the i7 4790k. You will also need an aftermarket CPU cooler, the stock Intel cooler can't deal with the increased heat that is put out when overclocking. Your RAM will be compatible with any Z97 motherboard so that's not a problem.

Does it make a difference for videogames? this whole preparation is to be able to run METAL GEAR V.
it says the minimum requirements are way above my CPU.

Now the question would be,

DO I NEED THIS UPGRADE to run METAL GEAR SOLID V, if METAL GEAR GROUND ZEROES works just fine?

I run a lot of latest games in high settings without much problem. I'm not entirely sure I need this upgrade.

The i5 750 still isn't a bad gaming CPU, but it is getting a little long in the tooth and does struggle a bit in some of the newer CPU heavy titles, particularly if you have a high end graphics card. Overclocking can help performance a bit, though even with an overclock my i5 760 still holds back my GTX 770 in some CPU heavy titles like GTA V and certain areas of Witcher 3.

As for Metal Gear Solid 5, in theory it should work okay on your system, a lot of Japanese games do have overblown system requirements and if your PC can run Ground Zeroes okay, you should be fine with the full game, but you never know, Konami might decide to make the port really badly optimized, or the larger game world might hit your CPU harder than the smaller environment in Ground Zeroes. You could always wait a month for the game to come out and see how it runs on your current system before pulling the trigger on an upgrade.

Supernova1138 Yes. I was actually just trying it out and I'm running all on HIGH and its smooth. If I do ALL EXTRA HIGH, it lags at like 15-20 fps. And if I do 3 extra high and the rest HIGH it's almost like HIGH.

So I think I'm going to stick with this, maybe do a few cheap improvements of some sort, like overclocking and something else. I gotta find how to overclock this and what other things I can do to push this machine. Imma create a new thread to ask this.
