Compatibility check with AsRock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68 and G-Skill Rip 1600

Does anyone know if G-Skill Ripjaws X 1600 will work on an AsRock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68? I checked the compatibility list on the AsRock site and the G-Skill site, neither list they support each other but I have seen many people's builds on this forum alone that combine the two. G-Skill list that the Extreme4 version supports 1600 Ripjaws and AsRock list only 1333 Ripjaws on their memory compatibility list for the Extreme3 but DO list 1600 for Extreme4.

Did they not update their compatibility check or what?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

I ask because it's difficult to find 1333 Ripjaws, so if 1600 won't work then I will need to fork out for a Extreme4 mobo.

The 1600 will work fine. The compatibility list is hardly updated and ONLY includes RAM ASRock employees have physically tested. Since they can't test every speed and maker's RAM, that's why it doesn't get updated. I've never been 'compliant' with a mobo manufacturer's memory list and NEVER had a problem.

Further, my Patriot 1600 isn't listed on the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P list and it runs fine (my current machine). Had to look it up
