Okay cool, how come the RAM?Motherboard and maybe ram.
The motherboard needs to list the 9400f on the CPU QVL.
And the ram on the memory QVL
You can't use the 9400f on your Mboard, Refer to this CPU support : https://www.gigabyte.com/Ajax/SupportFunction/Getcpulist?Type=Product&Value=5521 .Wanting to get an i5 9400f in place of my i3 6100.
Rest of my parts are:
Gigabyte GA H170 D3HP mobo
x2 Gskil 8gb ddr4 ram
Zalman ZM 400 GVN
Nvidia Gtx 950 2gb
What other parts would I need to change /upgrade to have it all be compatible with the new cpu?
This makes no sense. The older i5-9400f with a b365 board will cost about $235 and give you 6 cores / 6 threads.Wanting to get an i5 9400f in place of my i3 6100.
