Hi guys !

So i found a memory stick today . I don't even know why i have it in my house but nevermind . It's a patriot memory stick . I assume it was 2x 4GB set but i have only one stick ( idk why ) . I also have one stick corsair vengeance 4gb 1600mhz in my computer now . The question is , is it worth to put this one 4gb stick into my computer since they are from different company and they have different mhz . Here is link to photo http://i.imgur.com/GXUNtE5.jpg

No, you won't likely damage anything. If the computer doesn't like it then it simply won't POST.

As for your question, the faster SPD value you have, the better. Realistically speaking, you likely won't see or experience any real difference between 1333 and 1600. Also, the more RAM you have in general, the better.
No. The reason is there's no guarantee it's going to work at all. I've seen and heard of people having issues with RAM from the very same company let alone different ones.

You can try it but it may not POST. In order for it to even stand a remote chance of working, here are some things to take into consideration: first, the RAM stick *must* be the same size as the others. If it's a 4GB stick and your others are two each, it won't work. The DIMM slots must be balanced. Second, the timings are likely to be different between your old and the new. That stick you found may not be able to run at the timings of your other sticks. The voltages may also be different between them. Finally, if it does work, your RAM will all be down clocked to the slowest value so that there's parity between them. If your other sticks are 2133 and the other one is 1333, you're going to be slowing your RAM down pretty significantly. You can try to overclock that slower stick but again, there's no guarantee it's going to work. It's best to only run RAM in a matched/paired set. RAM in that fashion has been tested to work together and guarantee functionality.

You can try it with no harm... but don't be surprised if it doesn't work at all.

SkyBill40 thank you very much for your answer . I could set Dram frequency to 1333 in my bios and try to run them both at that frequency . The question is can i somehow damage my computer when i give it a try ? Another question, is it better to have 8GB 1333 mhz or 4gb 1600mhz memory ?

For anybody interested it actually worked . I set my DRAM freq to 1333mhz in my bios and it worked , both bios and windows 7 shows 8gb ram . Another question is can it stay like that ? I mean since it works can i just work on this 2 sticks ?
