Hey, I'm helping a friend build a pc and pick some parts and i want to be sure that everything is compatible and will fit i already did some research on my own but I just want to be sure. And is there perhaps a way he can save some money by picking other parts?

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate
GPU: MSI GeForce GT 740

Power supply: EVGA 100-W1-500-KR 500W ATX12V

Thank you in advance :)

Your build is compatible, but the GPU is mediocre and the PSU is not of good quality. I would go with something like the build below. There was not enough budget to add the SSD, but one could be added later.
