Hello everyone,
I just bought an MSI R7 370 4G graphics card and installed it into my system that previously had a Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670 GV‑R667D3‑1GI in its place. I made no other changes. My mobo is an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 and the power supply is a RAIDMAX RX-500S (KY-600ATX) ATX12V.
Everything on the card lights up, the fans spin, but my monitor isn't getting any signal from it. I noticed the instructions say to connect it to a 6-pin or 8-pin power connector if there is any, but my power supply only has one 8-pin and four pins are plugged into my mobo.
I tried plugging the other four into the card, but my system wouldn't power on at all in that config. My system also won't power on at all if the four pins are not plugged into the 4-pin slot labeled ATX12V on my mobo.
Is my power supply incompatible because another 6-pin connector is needed or is there something else wrong considering card seems to still power up when I leave the 4-pin plugged into the mobo, yet there's just no signal to the monitor?
Any help would be extremely appreciated along with your time and commitment in reading this far. Thanks!
