Hi,

I have just build this setup:

MOBO: Aorus Master z390 (with last version of bios)
CPU: i9 9900K
Ram: G.Skill trident (F4-4133C19D-16GTZR ), 2X 8GB

The issues is when I activate the XMP for the ram, the system is unstable and does not pass the stress tests (done with aida64 or OCCT)

I have checked the compatibility list for the MOBO and there are listed the same type of RAM but 4X 8GB but not the 2X 8GB that I have installed, is this the cause of the instability? If I buy 2 more will solve the issue?

Thanks for you advise

I don't recommend mixing different batches of memory sticks. The timings for this memory is horrible. If you are going to go for 32gb, why not sell the oneS giving you trouble,. F4-4133C17Q-32GTZR these are 4133mhz better timings and on the qvl list.

So are not the same type of ram? I tough the difference one pack comes with 2 ram and the other with 4... sorry my ignorance but I can t find any other differences...

It's the silicon nanoscopic variations in the molecular doping process in manufacturing probably causes issues as it is likely experimental tech or something trying to push the far limits so the result is varied quality mem sticks that are binned together. Suppose there is some similarity between the nanoscopically flawed dimms they try to match them to find out which ones will work together.

So buying the 2 sticks is a matched pair and buying the 4 sticks is a matched quad set. Buying 2 sets of 2 is mismatched. Eg. not tested together in the factory.
