Hi!

I'm always getting good comments here so I'm trying my luck again:
Would anyone happen to know whether H87 mini-ITX boards, namely Asus H87I-PLUS and Asrock H87M-ITX, support 1.35V DDR chips? The lists of compatible memory for both boards don't provide too helpful information, but common sense tells me that SFF boards, especially with the second-best chipset for their time, will work just fine with just about any 1.5v memory, as well as with any decent brand 1.35v chips.

opinions?

Thanks for the link, seems like it will work just fine. Do you think 1.35v memory is worth the premium over normal 1.5v chips for a SFF PC that's aimed at quiet operation?

Regarding the mobo, I actually have a hard time choosing one. The Asus indeed seems nice, but out of almost all of the mITX boards around it has worst audio chip and it is also lacking esata (no big deal as I can use an expansion slot for this like I do now, but still nice to have). I would still probably take it since its socket is more central so less likely to cause issues with a wide cooler inside a SFF case (node 304).

The 1.35 memory modules generally will be either low profile, or extremely low profile. So you they are quite nice and consume less power. I was thinking about building a mini ITX system for myself some time soon just because my power bills have been fairly high lol. But yeah the 1.35v memory modules are quite nice they don't even stick above the latch when you lock them into place. So you can put in a beefy after market cooler with a noctua for a really silent system. I personally was planning on buying the h60 from corsair which is amazingly quite and performs well. But be quite has a new aftermarket heatsink that looks like it will perform really well. And with that ram shouldn't cause any issues because it is no taller than the socket itself.
