Looking into a build but I've never built before. Currently I'm sitting at;
i5-7500
GTX 1070 WF
8GB Hyperx Fury Black RAM
Kingston 60GB SATA SSD
Asus DVD drive

Got a few questions with it, first and foremost the motherboard, I want a z170 but I've heard that they dont always support the kaby lake processors, is there any mobo that will fit the needs at a good price? Looking at about a 1400$ budget, and will have to sell my current rig to get the money. So is there a BIOS update that I'll need to get from this computer before upgrading, or is there any other motherboards I could use instead?
Second, Cooling. I'm not overclocking, but if I needed cooling I'd definitely go for a hyper 212 EVO. Heard that the kaby lake cpu's have a good cooler already so will I not need the hyper 212?
PSU and case, is there any special concerns with this build? I assume that 600w will be enough to run it but I want to be sure, and will any old mid tower fit all of this?
Finally the OS. I know that it comes down to mostly preference, but is it worth the extra to get old reliable 7 or should I give in to the new windows 10? I've used both and mainly hate 10 for how difficult it can be to browse my files and computer in general, but I can deal with it if that's the only setback. Are there any performance differences between them?

Any and all suggestions are welcome, and thanks guys/gals

your CPU only supports Win10
your CPU isn't overclockable so going for a Z-board is a waste of money. go for a H270/B250 board instead and get a nicer one. Z170 boards don't provide any edge but require a bios update to work with your CPU (which you can't do)

a 60GB SSD is cutting it short even for the OS only. less than 100GB is definitely not recommended.

as for cooling, the Cryorig M9i should be more than enough.

as for the PSU - go for a quality PSU. 450-550W is all you need. if budget is an issue look for a Corsair CXM450 (not the 430 / 500) or a Super Flower Golden Green Hx. Otherwise I'd go for a Seasonic G.

Will that mobo support an m.2 ssd then? And I have a corsair 550W bronze picked out just to be sure. Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware of the Z and H270 being overclockable/not. What about for RAM, does it actually matter that much what ram sticks you get? my other choice is Corsair vengeance LPX 3000mhz, https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233828&ignorebbr=1&_ga=1.8909053.939432392.1481399503
