[SOLVED] Compatibility on the MSI GT70 2PE Dominator Pro

Is it possible to upgrade the CPU on this MSI laptop from It's current Intel i7 4th gen one? or is it solder in place to prevent this? (I'm too scared to open it up as it's still under warranty and I don't want to mess with something this expensive, yet.).

Which CPU you currently have will make answering this easier...

But knowing the higher end gaming laptops, they usually use CPUs that are removable (e.g. PGA chips). However, I don't know what you expect to upgrade to since that laptop probably used the highest Intel CPU available at the time.

I believe the current CPU is the I7 4810MQ and my best choice for upgrade would be a I7 4910MQ because the 4980HQ doesn't support DDR3L. (I currently did some research)

Overall, upgrading to anything higher than what you have now will probably not yield that much of a performance boost.

Ah, alright then. But like I said I'm not certain it is that one, could be a 4600, I can't really check now for reasons, but I will take your answer in to consideration if it is the one I said it was originally. Thank you for your time.
