Hello Community,

I'm currently planning to enhance my system with an ASRock Thunderbolt 4 AIC card, to pair with my existing ASRock X670E PG Lightning. I was hoping to leverage the Thunderbolt port for a Thunderbolt monitor.

Has anyone tried this particular combination? Can you confirm whether the Thunderbolt port will indeed support a Thunderbolt monitor with this setup? Any input or insights from your experiences would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
Best,

Geng

yes. that is why it has a DP input port. you plug the DP cable from existing graphics output into the AIC then you can re-route it out through TB.

just know it 100% requires you plug it into a PCIe slot that has at least 4 lanes.

also, if wanting to know if the AIC is supported on your motherboard in the first place, check the page for the AIC on ASRock website (for this specific motherboard the answer is yes)

Thank you QerkyPengwen. The interesting part from the ACI webist is that for my MOBO it says "do not support TB monitor"........I can not believe this is true. T_T
