I'm planning on upgrading my pc, I got a really good deal for a vega 64 and i already bought it but its high power consumption pushed me to buy a new PSU.

Will the https://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply/1278 work with my gpu+ Ryzen 5 3600?

Also I want to try the GPU before the new CPU+mobo get delivered, my current mobo is an old Gigabyte Z68P-DS3. Will the PSU work on this old mobo?

Yes. 700W is the perfect option for your rig. The recommended PSU for your rig would be 650W but it's always good having some extra Watts on your GPU to spend.

A Vega64 can draw up to ~300W under a torture workload.
Realistically, paired with a 3600, you could get by with something like a quality ~550W, but a quality 700-750W unit would be recommended. The official recommendation of 850W is a bit much, IMO.

That's Sapphire's official stance. That likely accounts for some less than ideal quality units but regardless, that's what they're recommending. From reviews I've seen, 850W is probably overkill - but it's not going to hurt.

I would consider getting something a bit better than a Bequiet bronze rated unit, like maybe a Corsair rm/hx/txm or Seasonic focus/focus plus or EVGA G3
