[SOLVED] Compatibility with cpu, please help.

I’m currently running the MSI B350 Tomahawk with an AMD Ryzen 5 1400, I plan on upgrading to an R5 3600, however I was informed I may need a BIOS update, if so which version do I need, thanks.

Where did you get informed from? If you used Pcpartpicker, then it says that a lot. I’ve upgraded to different CPUs a ton and I have yet to need a bios update. Basically every time pcpartpicker said I’d probably need that bios update.

Yes, you certainly need to update BIOS before switching CPU.

The newest one MSI has on their website. Update it with your 1400 installed.
