So I'm currently running a Ryzen 2200g CPU on a Asus TUF B450-PRO GAMING Motherboard. Now my Question is:

By Updating the bios to the latest version which adds support for Ryzen 5000 series, will compatibility with my current chip be dropped and thus preventing my system from posting?

Solution
it will post, but there might be some bios bugs with no plans for fix for your CPU
i have something similar x370 board with bios for ryzen 3000...bios version comes with big warning to not use it with first gen...well it works fine, just above 4G makes sata drives stop working...sooo some random bugs may appear

Ok thanks noted. I didn't notice any warnings on the bios update page of my specific model though but either way will hold off on the update till I do upgrade my cpu.
