upgrade PSU.I am running a founders edition nvidia 3090ti with a MSIz690 with 12th generation i9 and I decided to upgrade the psu from an 850 to a 1000w but now my pc will not turn on. Are there any compatability issues?

Did you re-use any cables from the previous unit?
Are you able to try the gpu in another PC?
Both great choices.
Nothing should've gone wrong from either though...
Does the PC turn on with the gpu completely removed? [Hopefully, you aren't using the i9 F-SKU.]
Are you able to test the gpu in another PC?
So, your Msi Z690 is dead then... is what it sounds like. Nothing's coming on if that's dead.
Nicked the board good during the psu swap. That's what I'm thinking but idk how. I turned all power off and depressed power button and waited 5 min before removing wires.
But you got the PC to turn on using a different board - or did I misread into that?Is there a chance that it's the power button?
The only way is with another motherboard... which you already did. Also how would I successfully test the motherboard?

Bent and cracked the board somewhere.
Not exactly related, but I damaged my current board's onboard audio to where audio doesn't play on the left speaker. I was a bit careless during one of my maintenance routines and unknowingly knocked off a couple solid caps for the audio processor...
It's very possible, I feel more defeated than anything lol but all things do point towards the motherboard.

The psu turned on a different pc(I wanted to rule out the psu)

Thank you for the help. And then we're back to the motherboard: nothing's coming on if it's gone kaput. I'd bet both psus work with the other PC.
Exactly how the new board gave up the ghost is hard to say; pretty much requires a specialist if it can't be visually discerned.
