[SOLVED] Compatible Asus RoG gl552v with Samsung 860 Evo 500GB

I have a friend of mine who is always complaining about storage on his PC and I thought I could help him out. His computer is a Asus RoG GL552V laptop and the drive I have in mind for him would be a Samsung 860 Evo SSD. I opened his computer and the 2.5" drive bay was there. My fear is that it might be too thick. I really doubt it is but I wanted to make sure so I came here. So, will it fit? Has anyone done it before? Thanks in advance, Didas.

If you're not needing to upgrade the M.2 SSD on your friend's laptop then yeah the Samsung 860 Evo will serve as a drop in replacement for the HDD. You shouldn't be worried about the thickness of the SSD, though.
