I'm currently looking to build a new gaming computer.

I found a store that specializes in compatible components

http://www.gamingbuild.com/socket-1155-gaming-builds/

The LGA 1155 socket still in my mind looks like a socket that could be around for a little while yet, at least long enough to base a new gaming build around.

However I was thinking about waiting for the Haswell processor's that are supposed to be coming out this year.

what to do..what to do..

Any input would be much appreciated.

Simple enough. Do you want to over clock or not?

If not then your preferred chipset is the H77. If so, the Z77. If you want to over clock then your choice is between i5 and i7. A good i5 costs between $170 and $300 US. i7’s are more expensive.

I’ll recommend two systems. One high end and expensive, one middle median and less expensive.

I7 3770K $329 (quad core, eight logical cores)
ASUS Z77 “Sabertooth” $243
DDR3 GSkill Sniper 1866 16 GB kit $84 X2
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870 2GB Graphics card $239x2
SSD Samsung 840 120GB $99
Seagate 3TB hard drive $159
Seasonic Platinum 1000W Power Supply $229

I5 2500K $219 (quad core)
ASROCK Z77 Pro 4 $127
DDR3 GSkill 1600 4 GB $22 x4
Powercolor Radeon 7850 1 GB $169
SSD Samsung 840 120GB $99
Seagate 3TB hard drive $159
Seasonic M12II 620W Bronze $89

On Hazwell... They are only projecting a 10% gain over Ivy bridge and nominal power savings. Probably about the same gain we got from Sandy to Ivy. Nothing revolutionary.
