I'm currently looking to build a new gaming computer.

I found a store that specializes in compatible components

The LGA 1155 socket still in my mind looks like a socket that could be around for a little while yet, at least long enough to base a new gaming build around.

However I was thinking about waiting for the Haswell processor's that are supposed to be coming out this year.

what to do..what to do..

Simple enough. Do you want to over clock or not?

If not then your preferred chipset is the H77. If so, the Z77. If you want to over clock then your choice is between i5 and i7. A good i5 costs between $170 and $300 US. i7’s are more expensive.

I’ll recommend two systems. One high end and expensive, one middle median and less expensive.

On Hazwell... They are only projecting a 10% gain over Ivy bridge and nominal power savings. Probably about the same gain we got from Sandy to Ivy. Nothing revolutionary.
