Compatible CPU for GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3

I currently have a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 and I am looking to upgrade my CPU. Ive been looking into a i7 but was wondering if this would be compatible if not what would be a close match to an i7 that would be compatible

Any help would be great

That is a AM3+ board , you need to get a AMD FX series CPU.

So could you suggest a CPU in which is close in power to the i7. The pc is a gaming pc not used for much else. Not looking to spend more then £300

Shouldn't that be AM3+ and AM3?

It can support up to a FX8350 but you would need a good cooler.

For i7 like performance on AMD... honestly AMD does not even come close to that. However, if you are only gaming you don't need i7 like performance.

You can get the processor below.. Remember in gaming it is the GPU that is the bottleneck not the CPU.

Ok thank you, im not very technical but know a little about pc's. I have GPU in mind but what kind would you recommend again looking no more then £200
