Dear users,

I own a old Fujitsu Siemens laptop: ESPRIMO Mobile V5515 (Specs. & datasheet) with Intel Celeron M 520 CPU.
I want to buy a better CPU for it but I don't know how. How can I understand that a CPU is compatible with my laptop's motherboard?
Can you suggest me a good CPU for my laptop? (Intel or AMD, doesn't matter)

By the way, I just want to use this laptop for test/internet. I own another powerful laptop.

Thank you
Best wishes...

So, as the datasheet says, the best CPU I can use is T5500?!
In the T5500's official webpage, it says that T5500 is 64bit. Can I convert my old laptop to 64bit by just buying a CPU? I think motherboard should support 64bit too. I am wrong?

Thank you

You will be fine. Just swap the CPU's and that's it.

I told for test/internet. Since I'm programmer, I'll use it for my tests. So, I prefer better CPU.
Faster is better. Well, can you suggest me best CPU which is compatible with my laptop?
Thanks

Thank you very much guys

So:
1- I can switch to 64bit just by swaping CPU.
2- The best CPU which is compatible with my laptop is Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5500.
3- I can't use AMD CPUs.

Please verify correction of three phases above and I'll close this thread.

Thank you

YES. True.

Programmer deals with software and my question is hardware. Nowadays every branch needs it's own specialists. And it's good to hear from someone whom spent more time with hardware than me (as a programmer).
Thank you
