Compatible Graphics Cards for Acer Aspire 6920 LF1 Laptop

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 6920 LF1, i was wondering what graphics cards are compatible with this laptop?

I want to get a new laptop eventually, but for the moment this is doing the job fine for most games. Sadly the current graphics card is fairly shocking - GeForce 9500M GS, if anyone could give any advice on what decent mid-range cards are compatible, it would be great.

The video card is integrated onto the motherboard and can't be upgraded.

Ok, sorry to stamp on your hopes as I expect you think there may be compatible cards.

For the majority of the time with laptops, the problem is that you can't upgrade the graphics cards as it's soldered to the motherboard and even when you can it may be quite expensive and difficult finding a compatible one. If anyone thinks I am wrong as I've JUST researched this, please correct me.

I installed a 9650M GT card in my Acer 6920, so YES it is possible (not sure if your LF1 version is different). I also had the 9500M GS originally. But I'm not sure which other faster cards would work. Maybe my card is the fastest possible (or maybe the 9600 is a little better). But you will have to download a modified driver from www.laptopvideo2go.com (this driver has a modified INF file so your card get recognised). I have driver number 259.47 (Forceware with modified INF file) which is working fine.
