Compatible Memory

Is 266 DDR compatible with a XP2600+, Or is this why i'm having system crashes?Memory stack dumps etc.

The XP2600+ runs with a 266MHz FSB... so PC2100 (2666MHz) DDRRAM should run perfect with it.

But can you give more detailed information about your hardware configuration?

I was thinking the 2600's went to the 166fsb.

Which means, you need a KT333 chipset and PC2700.

Right?

Hmmm... yes that's right I read that somewhere. But I'm not sure if there are one or two versions of it... one with 266 and one with 333MHz FSB.

I have a MSI KT4VL which has the 333 FSB,and i can physically set the DDR speed to 266 in the bios, just not sure if it will work or go nuclear on me.

You're going to have to set it to 266 if thats the RAM you're running.
