I have recently purchased an Early 2008 Mac Pro "Eight Core" 2.8 - MA970LL/A - MacPro3,1 - A1186 - 2180 .
The Mac pro has the original .Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card (max. resolution 2560 x 1600),
with Two dual-link DVI ports.
I would like to check the compatibility of the
LG 29UM68 29-Inch Class 21:9 UltraWide FHD IPS LED Monitor before buying it. This monitor has 1*Displayport and 2*HDMI ports, with a display resolution of 2560 x 1080.
I realise that a Dual link DVI/HDMI adapter won't allow full resolution, but would a Dual link DVI/Displayport cable allow full resolution ((2560*1600) with this graphics card?.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from mamgu2 : "Monitor compatible with 2008 Mac Pro"

I have recently purchased an Early 2008 Mac Pro "Eight Core" 2.8 - MA970LL/A - MacPro3,1 - A1186 - 2180 .
The Mac pro has the original ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card (max. resolution 2560 x 1600), with Two dual-link DVI ports.
I would like to check the compatibility of the
LG 29UM68 29-Inch Class 21:9 UltraWide FHD IPS LED Monitor before buying it. This monitor has 1*Displayport and 2*HDMI ports, with a display resolution of 2560 x 1080.
I realise that a Dual link DVI/HDMI adapter won't allow full resolution, but would a Dual link DVI/Displayport cable allow this monitor's full resolution with the above graphics card?
Thank you for reading, I would appreciate any advice that you are able to give me.
