Compatible motheboard for core 2 quad 2.8ghz with 12mb cache

Hello,
i bought a core 2 quad processor 2.8ghz 12mb cache ..q9550...which motherboard should i use for it..because every one is saying that the processor is of 12mb cache..so a higher mother board should be use with ddr 3 and all,,
so which is preferrred and better fot this proceesor for work good..
pls hellpp

to be honest any socket 775 should do you. There is no point in going for DDR3 on a core 2 processor. Just look for the motherboard that suits your needs (atx vs. mini atx, number of pci-x slots, if USB 3 needed, sound card 5.1 or 7.1 etc.etc.), in my opinion best makes are ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE. DDR3 really only outperforms DDR2 with an i-5/i-7 otherwise it's just throwing money away.

now presently i am using a gigabyte g41-es2l mother board...but every one says that even though the mother board supports core 2 quad 2.8ghz with 12 mb cache...but it doesnt run fast and may hang...
So with which mother board will i get the perfomance of that processor...
the recommended one PLEASE reply friends
