Hello,

Right then, this is my first post on Toms Hardware and also my first PC build. I do work in IT but as this is my first build - be nice!

From the specs below of the GPU you will see that this PC is not being built primarily as a gaming machine. Most of its life at the moment is be to used as a test environment for virtual machines and perhaps the odd game. My major concern is where or not all of the components are compatible, I have looked at each of the products at least several times and cannot see why there would be any issues - but as I have previously stated this is my first build so I don't want to assume anything!

If there is someone out there who wouldn't mind spending a few minutes looking over the components below and confirm from their own expertise and knowledge that this system will work without having to cut the case to fit the PSU or having to use a hammer (joke!).

Coolermaster Elite 340
OCZ 700W ModXStream Pro PSU
Asus Rampage II Gene Intel X58
Intel Core i7-920
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4650 512MB PCI-E
OCZ 12GB PC3-10666 DDR3 Platinum Low-Voltage Triple Channel (6x2GB)
Case Fans -- 2x Xilence Black 120mm Case Fan
CPU Heatsink & Fan -- Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile Socket 1366

Many Thanks in advanced for any suggestions,

Joel

Yes that will all work together .

The air inlet and outlet on the case look a little restricted . Its just holes drilled in the sheet metal rather than actual open space.
I have a very similar case , the silverstone TJ08 and that is more open on inlet and outlet and includes fans . Toms recently built a gaming system with a TJ 08 and a couple of gfx cards in sli and it ran hot but you should be fine . Your system will have much more open space internally and better air flow .
I have a scythe ninja cpu cooler with a 120 mm fan in my system .Its very quiet and almost never spins the fans up with a C2D processor . It fits because the width is about 15 mm more than the coolermaster 340 . Other than that the case layouts are the same

Unless you run lots of vm's or run 64 bit app's 12 gig of ram is over kill . 6 is plenty

All the form factors seem to line up. I don't have experinece with any of those parts, but should be fine. The only thing is theres better GPUs for the $50 price point.
