Hi Guys, I have a radeon HD6950 that has died, I have a budget of £250 or Dollars I think its about the same these days, what can you recommend please?
M/B AsusP8Z68-V
8gb ram 1333
I7 Quad core something or other about 7-8 years old
700w psu

Anything from a GTX 1050 and up will be more powerful then the HD6950. Not sure what you use the computer for, if it's jsut general purpose you could even just buy a cheap GT1030.

If it were me and I could get a good deal on a GTX 1050ti or maybe a 1060 that's what I would get. Anything more powerful are still way to much, plus given the age of the system probably not worth it.

AMD used to use the 3rd digit to place the cards in the series, so your series goes 6930/50/70/90, with the 30 being the lowest spec and the 90 being the power house.

Although the numbers change, the idea doesnt, so the equivalent NVidia is the 1050, and AMD is the RX550 or RX560.

Remember to check the psu can handle it, and the case is big enough for whichever card you choose.
