i'm running an older model dell with a 933mhz p3 coppermine
(socket 370) fsb 133 core voltage 1.7

what is the likely hood that the newer 1.2 ghz ppga voltage 1.5 an 133fsb will work on my system

You mean FC-PGA2. And with a Tualatin core. Compgeeks sells an adapter for $8.

The cool thing about the adapter is it also has voltage detection adjustment and bus speed detection adjustment, so if you wanted to run a 100MHz bus CPU you could set it at 133MHz bus and get one heck of an overclock.
