Competent suite that doesn't hog resources

What's a good security suite that doesn't slow down the computer like so many of them do?

I have tried both trend micro and kaspersky but they both seem a little hoggish

I agree with Viper, Nod32 is really good, and I don't think it hogs as much as other suites.
