Question Complete system freeze

This is a issue that has been going on after i actually bought a new GPU two years ago. I am either playing a game, or rendering a video, and suddenly, the whole system freezes and sound is frozen as well, turning the sound in almost buzzing repeating sound. I have to manually reboot my pc as nothing happens, it does not restart.

It went away once in a while, but last month the freezing even started to happen while editing a video in Adobe Premiere Pro. I first thought it might have been my videocard, so i purchased a new one, the issue continued, i thought it might have been my RAM, as it always has been unstable on my system. This was also not the case. The only thing that made it stop, was a BIOS update i applied two days ago. This made the system stable, until a few hours ago, i installed a new CPU cooler. This required the CPU to be removed to clean off any old thermal paste. After installing the cooler. The freezing happened again.

I have checked for memory errors, far none found. Checked for errors on my SSD, no errors. I have checked my Event Viewer, it does not give out any errors, except that the system suddenly had to restart. AMD Radeon does say that it had to reset it's settings to default because of a system failure after every crash.

I also keep a eye out on my temperatures, and they are not going even going over 60 Degrees Celcius for both CPU and GPU.

I am at a loss on what the issue could be. The last thing i can try is a Windows 10 refresh.

System:
OS: Windows 10, latest updates
Motherboard: ASUS Prime X470 Pro
Videocard: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 2700X
RAM: Kingston DDR4 Fury Beast. 2x16GB (3200mhz)
PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series 750W

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

PSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series 750W
How old is the PSU in your build?

except that the system suddenly had to restart.
Tell tale of an overheating issue or that your PSU is failing, incapable of power the system with the current specs. See if you can source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built PSU from a friend or neighbor to see if the build powers up without a hitch.

Motherboard: ASUS Prime X470 Pro
BIOS version for your motherboard?

Make and model of your case and cooler cooling your processor? Number of fans and their orientation in your case?

I bought the PSU in 2019. I sadly do not have anyone who i can borrow a reliable PSU from. Could it be the PSU? I do know the 7800 XT is a powerful card, but the advice for a PSU for this card is that you will be doing fine on 750 Watt as long as you don't OC, something i have not been doing.

I did check the voltage in HWINFO, and the +12v is sitting just below 12v. (average: 11.887 V) and +5v is average sitting at 4,937. The +3v is sitting right at 3.318. And i do have to mention, my PC does not restart, it just freezes, if i let it sit, nothing happens, i have to force the PC to restart while holding the power button. I also set my RAM at lower speeds, it did not fix the issue.

BIOS version is the latest one, 6201.
The CPU cooler i purchased is the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240
I got the artic on the front of my case, tubes on the bottom, two case fans on the top, and one in the back.
My case is a Cougar MX330-X

I just remembered that two weeks ago, a case fan started to make noise, after i installed the new cpu cooler, one case fan on top stopped making noise, but the one in the back did! Could this also be a sign of a faulty PSU?

It indeed started with my GPU two years ago, but i bought a new GPU last month again, so the issue should have been fixed. Sometimes coil whine seems to come from my PSU i think, i first thought it was my new cpu cooler making this noise, but it seems to come from the PSU. I just opened up the case on the right, and when i put strain on the system, i can hear a small buzzing sound as well. Coil whine is normal, but seeing the freezing of the system (that strangely is not happening today), i think the main culprit is my PSU. Very likely the fan dying, when i use the button on the back, called the FOCUS PLUS Fan Control Button, that shuts off when under light loads, the loud noise is suddenly gone. So very likely, the fan in my PSU is dying and the psu overheats on heavy loads and my system freezes. I was already planning to get a better PSU, seeing videocards these days ask so much more from our PSU's, so i'm going for the Seasonic Focus GX-850.

If this still does not fix the issue, it's my motherboard. As it's always been an unstable one.

as someone who has owned that processor and series 2 of ryzen cpus i find that if you go beyond
2933 it can cause freezing at random

i owned a ryzen 5 2600 that point blank refused to go to 3200mhz spec

keep your memory timmings same but reduce the speed to 2933mhz and see if that helps get rid of the issue.

instead of forking out alot for a psu i would suggest a psu tester as well.

the only light that shouldnt come on is the -5v if any of the other lights are off then its a bad psu

try setting your bios to default and save also. this will remove any overclocks etc or weird settings.

I have tried with speeds even low as 2400mhz and it still happened. The strange thing is i had set the speed at 3000 and that made it go stable for a while. All my bios settings tweaking wise, is also set to default.

Why not an ATX3.0/3.1 unit that can handlepowerspikes better? And there are a lot better units available than Seasonic.

B550 don't support a Ryzen 7 2700X!
Alright, thanks for the heads up about the B550, but it doesn't matter regarding the PSU, seeing the crashing with the new PSU still happens! I don't know what to do anymore. New CPU? New Motherboard?? I use my pc for my company and some videogaming, i upscale video and do video editing. I can't upscale anymore because of the freezing now!

I still have the issue, i have put everything in my bios to default, my pc just froze again, but this time, the pc restarted, i checked Event Viewer... and i have these 4 errors under system now:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 0

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 6

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Error Type: Translation Lookaside Buffer Error
Processor APIC ID: 7

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Processor APIC ID: 10

So it seems, my CPU might have been the cause of all of this? This kinda makes sense as i replaced the videocard, replaced the ram, and it was still happening. I also just remembered, that back in 2020 or 2021, when cleaning the pc, i removed the CPU, and dropped it, and two pins were bend, i managed to bring them back in position, they were not broken, but perhaps this made the issue even worse.
