Hello. First timer. Keep in mind my suppliers are Canadian and prices are considerably higher (damn 80 cents to the american dollar!)

I am looking to build a mean PC gaming (AAA games 3 years from now need to be playable still!) and porn viewing machine, $1000 budget for the parts listed below. I have a few questions (read many), though, because it was amateur-hour when I was picking my parts:
1) Is my motherboard fine with the build I took?
2) Do I need to buy a HDD right now or can I run simply with a 256 GB SSD?
3) My total estimated wattage is around 380 Watts. Is the 600W PSU I chose OK or is it thrash?
4) Is it me or is an optical drive not necessary?
5) I have not bought my monitor yet, but I'd like to have a 22 inch 60Hz 1080p relatively cheap monitor at around $175. Is there anything I need to know for this (compatibility, warnings)?
6) Are my proportions good? I feel like I could give more for the GPU but I have no idea where to cut.
7) PCPartPicker tells me this: Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. How much of a potential problem is this?
8) I chose the cooler unit at complete random. Can anyone tell me if it will work, and why?

Finally, if you could add 100$ to this build, what would be the first thing to change?

Here is the list.

You dont need a dvd. USB flash drives these days can be used for anything. Inc installing windows

You dont need a hdd if you use an SSD. In my new build the only thing in it is an SSD. I dont have a separate hdd

But I did install a DVD writer. Altho I havent really used it, since I built it (July last year)

Depends what you install.

Depending on the mobo you get if the BIOS doesnt support the CPU, you may have to either buy a CPU it supports then flash the BIOS then install the CPU you purchased. Or take it to a shop and ask them to do it

If the mobo supports something like USB BIOS flashback (ASUS), it's easier to flash a BIOS. If the above happens. because the only thing you need is a PSU. You dont need a CPU to update the BIOS...

If I were you i'd probably remove the cpu cooler since you are using a locked 4690 and not an unlocked K version, and then invest that money into a better motherboard.
