So, I completed Collosseum tonight. Then I caught a bunch more Shadow
Pokémon and purified them. Happy days.

I have Metagross left to catch - first time I battled it, it was too tough
to BEAT, let alone allow it to remain strong enough to be stay alive.
Second time, after an insane amount of training, a single Surf from Suicune
killed it (Rain Dance, whoops) so I'll have to go through them again at some
point.

I also need to get Skarmory. I can't find the guy, though. That's the only
Pokémon I've missed now.

Finally, I need Shuckle and one more (Togetic?) and have no idea where to go
for them.

I also need to purify Smeargle and Absol. Phew.

Use the D-disk that you hopefully found during your battles and go back
to The Under. Take the UFO down and rebattle the crime bosses. There
will be a new boss on the 5th group who'll have Shuckle. After you get
Shuckle and Skarmory, you'll get directions to the final trainer who has
Togetic. Be careful when fighting for it, because it's not that high of a
level
and the rest of the pokemon in the team are really strong. It could get
wiped out in the crossfire.

Hope this helps -

Do you ever come accross a Ditto that we can catch and then breed more
easily for R/S?

Of course not.

Any Pokémon from 1 to 151 not found in RS are not found in Coli either -
they're not even used by other trainers, let alone as catchable Shadow
Pokémon. The only relatives of RBY 'mon you can get are Espeon and
Umbreon - both male, so no Eevees - and Hitmontop - always male, so no
Tyrogue and no LeeChan.

Well, it's part of the "endgame", as it were. After you "beat the
game", you get a chance to catch some of the other Pokemon you missed
(the other GS starters that you didn't get, etc). Basically, the kids
in Pyrite keep emailing you and you have to follow their path. Along
the way, you'll run across the D-Disk. I believe it's in the Snagem
Hideout but I don't remember for sure. Also, if you complete a task and
don't get a new email, go somewhere else a time or two and eventually
they'll email you and tell you where to go next.

Hi. I recently got Colosseum. I am at Mt. Battle or whatever it's called,
after the forest with the stone. There's a few questions I want to ask. Do
you actually ever get a chance to catch Celebi because by the sounds of
things it's justs used for purifying Pokemon?

Another thing; I accidentally defeated Meditite. When do I get another
chance to try and snag it? Would I just have to go back at a later time,
when the trainer wants to battle again?
BTW, all other Pokemon can be either female or male, apart from Hitmontop
and Meditite, right? If that's the case, I've made a few mistakes by
catching male Pokemon. If I wanted to breed them later in R/S, I'd need all
female. The most important ones I've made a mistake with are Noctowl and
Bayleaf. Now I can't get Chikorita and Hoothoot in my Pokedex. I guess I'll
just have to start another game later on another memory card, or wait until
my sister plays and tell her to get females of those two. That's all for
now.

The trainer with Meditite should still be where you left him/her, don't worry.
Just go back later and try again.

>BTW, all other Pokemon can be either female or male, apart from Hitmontop
>and Meditite, right?

Meditite can be either male or female. Hitmontop and the Eevees are exclusively
male, while Miltank (who appears much later in the game) is exclusively female.
Those Pokémon who appear later in the game that are aesexual are Metagross,
Ho-oh (who requires a lot of work) and the Legendary Cats from G/S/C.
Additional details for Ho-oh are as follows.

You need to do two things in Colisseum to get Ho-oh. First, fully purify all 48
Shadow Pokémon in Story Mode. Second, beat all 100 trainers on Mt. Battle in
either single or double battle mode. You can use Pokémon from Ru/Sa for help,
but they can't be directly imported from Ru/Sa, only traded in via Story Mode.
Also, keep one space open in your Story mode PC, otherwise you'll have to start
Mt. Battle all over again.

Hope that sheds some light on things.

Thanks a lot. Yes it sheds a lot of light on what I've asked. 🙂 Currently
I'm struggling to get Entei. It's not that it's hard, it's just that it
either knocks itself out before being caught, or sometimes there's a
critical hit when you don't want it.

Nope, no Celebi. In the Japanese version, Celebi was available on a bonus
disc, but the US got Jirachi. And the UK got nothing.

> Another thing; I accidentally defeated Meditite. When do I get another

You get infinite chances at catching everything (yes, even the dogs/cats).
Trainers with Shadow Pokémon will always end up somewhere which makes sense.
The "bosses" will go to the Deep Colosseum, the trainers from the Under will
end up in the Snagem hideout, but most others will stay wherever they used
to be.

The Meditite trainer, for instance, will remain in the cave. To fight him
again, you just need to make your way there after defeating Miror B - that
is, battle all the trainers again. This'll be easier second time around,
since your team will be stronger.

> Would I just have to go back at a later time,
> when the trainer wants to battle again?

Yes, and he'll basically want to do this as soon as you leave the building
post-defeating Miror B, and will keep battling you as many times as you can
reach him.

> BTW, all other Pokemon can be either female or male, apart from Hitmontop
> and Meditite, right?

Meditite can be female, but RS Pokémon don't matter anyway. Espeon and
Umbreon are always male as well.

Very true, but bear in mind that you won't be able to see the GS mon on your
RS Pokédex until you unlock the National Pokédex with FL...and by then,
you'll be able to catch a Ditto in FL and complete your collection that way.

> The most important ones I've made a mistake with are Noctowl

Yeah, the first starter you get should be forced to be female by constant
resets, since it's harder to reach the other two, and therefore less fun to
constantly reset.

That's all

Myself, I reset with most things that mattered, but I'm willing to play the
odds and check out my brother's and friend's games for females, and if THAT
doesn't yield what I want, I have a spare memory card I can use.

Togetic, by the way, was male seven times in a row for me, so I gave up and
caught it male. The odds of this happening should be one in 128.
Independent trials or not, that sounds stupidly unlikely to me. Anyone had
any luck getting a female one?

No dice at my end, and I had a similar situation with Tyranitar. Aside from
those two (and Makuhita), I managed to get all of the non-genderless Pokémon as
females.

Mind you, this took four days of near-constant game playing and sheer dumb
luck, but I still managed it. Probably could've done better, however.

I lucked out with Tyranitar and got a female. Houndoom was female too, so
although I didn't beat the final six at this point, I decided that losing
half my money was worth it.

Ah, it took me a lot longer to be satisfied with everything, but a lot of
this involved fine-tuning my team and mindlessly training.

On my spare memory card, it took me seventeen tries to get a female
Croconaw. Fun was not had.

I'm thinking I really need to go back and replay to get females...I think I
only got like 5 or so females of the ones I couldn't get in Ru/Sa. I was
lucky enough to get a female Tyranitar though...

My copy of Pokemon Box is scheduled to arrive today so maybe I'll save those
I want and restart...I'm assuming you can do that and bring Poke's back in
to the new game.

Not *quite* that easy. Before you can move stuff from Box to RS, you need
to register 100 species in your PokéDex. GSmon still don't count either, so
you need exactly half of everything that's available.

That'll work for me since I did complete the Dex in Ruby...it just means I
have to save a few that are not completely tweaked like my favorites.

Yes, but you can buy those seperately. Jirachi's more expensive, in that
you need to buy Channel for £20 and sell your soul in order to play the game
without dying due to the lack of sense the game makes.
