Specs :
- 7800X3D, 7800 XT
- MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wifi motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000MHZ CL36 Intel XMP (CMH32GX5M2E6000C36)

Hey, i built a new pc about a week ago and quickly noticed the pc wasnt recognizing my 2nd ram stick. I tried it in the same slot as the working one (DIMMA2), and PC wouldn't boot. I ended up RMA:ing the sticks and bought the exact same ones again, since i thought mine were faulty. Now im having the same issue again, only 1 stick works and only in DIMMA2 slot.

I've tried 4 different bios versions, currently on newest, also tried to reset cmos twice and downgraded from windows 11 to 10. PC works just fine when using only 1 stick in DIMMA2-slot. I've even tried to loosen the AIO, but didnt help.

I'd really appreciate any help, this has been stressing me out quite a lot in the past few days.

Doublecheck the RAM stick installation.

Some motherboards required that the first physically installed RAM stick to be placed in a specific slot.

Check your B650 motherboard's User Guide/Manual.

Were the RAM sticks purchased as a matched set/kit for dual channel use?

https://prnt.sc/OYRkY7AeKDLX (mobo manual says "Always insert memory modules in the DIMMA2 slot first".)

CMH32GX5M2E6000C36 is the ram and its 2x16gb and says dual channel on the website i bought from

Did you "Always insert memory modules in the DIMMA2 slot first."?

Source website for RAM purchase?
Hey, i just got the working ram stick to boot my pc when used in B2 slot. Would this confirm that the mobo and cpu works correctly and that one of the sticks is faulty since it doesnt work in any of the slots?

And that would mean i've been extremely unlucky ordering ram twice and each time one stick was faulty wtf.

Why did you buy Intel XMP RAM for an AMD system?
This RAM is not on the QVL so it's not guaranteed to work properly.
It doesnt matter if its intel xmp or amd expo, thats just an overclocking profile. Mobos also only test a fraction of rams so qvl is always gonna be outdated and going to miss a lot of sticks.

It does matter. Some MIC doesn't work well with Ryzen, even at native JEDEC speed.
I'd assume that's very rare. Even the qvl has a lot of intel xmp rams in it.

Also if you read the thread, only one of the sticks is working so i'm not sure what intel xmp has to do with that.

Same issue with my new DDR 5 RAM, got them two days ago.

After one day after power outage, PC boots up with just one stick.

Checked with every Slot and its just the one RAM module.

I just ordered new one cause im still in the return frame.

I bought G.Skill's amd expo ram and system works perfectly now. Corsair seems to have a lot of issues with their ddr5 sticks
