Hello all,
The computer I built six years ago has finally thrown up the white flag. Its time to upgrade, and for the past couple of days I've been researching and compiling a list of parts to buy in my price range. I was hoping that you could take a look at them and let me know what you think, if you've had trouble with compatibility, etc.
Intel Core i5-3450 Ivy Bridge 3.1 GHz (3.5 GHz Turbo)
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 ATX Intel Motherboard
XFX Double D FX-785A-CDFC Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0x16
Kingston HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s
ASUS DRW-24B1ST SATA DVD Burner
I am reusing my full size Cooler Master tower and 850W power supply (which I replaced about a year ago, and believe has all the necessary connections). I do not plan on overclocking at this time, hopefully this will be good enough to cover my needs as a gamer and developer!
Thanks,
David
