Component Saftey

I'm beginning to dissect a computer to become more familiar with the components inside. Is there any safe way to leave the components out overnight? Or do I need to reconnect everything when I'm done? I'm aware that static and improper temps can damage parts, but I was wondering what materials I should have to prevent that?

you can easily leave the components out overnight.

Make sure to statically discharge beforehands for example by touching bare metal on a heater. Don't wear plastic and furrey clothes and best bot wear rubber shoes.

Expanding a bit:

Do not leave anything turned on or plugged in while you are away from the "autopsy".

Child proofing is a must if there are toddlers or young kids about.

Small screws and parts... get a magnetic dish for them and put out of reach.

Pets can do damage as well.

thank you guys for the feedback. I'm buying a magnetic plate today. Was also wondering if nitrile gloves help with static when working with motherboard components?
